Kimberly Rowland, Managing Partner, Certified Manager of Community Associations, Real Estate Broker, with a strong background in finance and community development
With 25 years in Association Management, Property Management, Real Estate and Finance experience, Kimberly co-founded Epoch with long-time associates. In her role, she manages the complex relationships between associations, homeowners, municipalities, financial institutions, utilities and contractors. She is a tenured CEO who has set the standard for developing and supervising associations with clients from Vail to Eagle, including Avon, Edwards, and Cordillera. As a volunteer for many years, she was the Director of Education for the Vail Valley Foundation, the Accountability President at Battle Mountain High School, and the Parent-Teacher Co-Chair at the Vail Mountain School. She has served on many Boards: Riverdance at Arrowhead HOA, Eagle Valley Land Trust, Colorado Snowsports Museum, Jimmie Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis, and she was a Community Trustee for the Vail Valley Medical Center. Her family has called the Vail Valley home since 1997.
Barbara Jean Houck, Assistant Manager
Barbara Jean Houck brings 17 years of Homeowner Association (HOA) management to EPOCH. With her strong background in community engagement, and organizational leadership, EPOCH welcomes her in her role as Assistant Manager. Barbara Jean is dedicated to ensuring that the HOA Board and Homeowners feel supported and that community and budgetary standards are upheld with fair consistency. Barbara Jean is committed to clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and building trust with homeowners. She believes that successful community management comes from listening to residents’ needs, encouraging collaboration, and creating an environment where everyone feels included and proud of their homes. Outside of work, Barbara enjoys hiking, biking, reading, writing and traveling. She looks forward to assisting EPOCH management and working closely with HOA board members and homeowners to maintain and enhance their neighborhoods and quality of life.
Jim Rowland, Director of Operations
Jim has over 8 years of property management and service experience in the Vail Valley. His clients appreciate reliable communications, sincerity, and prompt professionalism. He finishes projects under-budget, making him the first choice for Associations, Homeowners, and Contractors.
Over the last few years, Jim’s focus has been on Service. His major projects have included asphalt, landscaping, and painting on the residential and commercial scale, as well as roof and siding replacements. Jim is adept at managing the complex relationships between contractors, homeowners, and boards. After college at the University of Washington, he returned to Vail in 2018 and began working for Epoch. When asked where he learned his communication & negotiating skills, he once said: “My mother, of course, but you learn more about people trying to run your D&D Group from 10 to 12pm offsite in
Eagle!” Jim regularly donates his time to bring young people along online multiplayer gaming world. Jim has called Vail home for over 22 years, enjoying all that our Valley has to offer.
Dave Laczi, Director of Maintenance & Construction
Dave has over 25 years of construction management experience, primarily in framing, remodels and roofing. Most recently he was the Director of Maintenance and Services at a large property management firm in Avon. His projects have included multi-unit, roof replacements, deck and stair replacements, commercial painting, asphalt projects, and commercial boiler & HVAC repair. Previously, at Turner Morris Roofing, Dave was a Superintendent and Crew-leader for a roofing company in Denver. After college in NY, Dave moved to Colorado for the mountain lifestyle. At first, he worked on high-end remodels and as an instructor at Copper Mountain. When asked where he developed his management style, Dave wholeheartedly replied: “Have you ever tried to teach a class of 8-year old’s how to snowboard?” He enjoys everything outdoors, and he and his young family live in Eagle CO.
